We're gonna party hard today and give you some amazing eye candy and the opportunity to win some of your own ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape with Edge-Lock™ Paint LineProtector !  Be sure to check the list of folks partying with me today so you can see all their super projects!

So let's get this party started!!
I am so excited about this project! I have been DYING to do a project with a zebra pattern, and this was the perfect opportunity.  I just needed the PERFECT piece of furniture!
Enter this little beauty that I found at a CREEPY estate sale!

Not much to look at, but tons of potential!

I knew the table had some sticky drawers so I checked those out as soon as I got home.  Much to my satisfaction I found that someone had stuck some metal tacks in the wood, and this was all that was making the drawers stick! Out they came!

Next, the top of the table was a little warped from rain.

So I busted out my palm sander and went to town.  Within a few minutes it had a nice, even edge.  I patched up all the cracks and holes with spackle.

First I painted it in a gorgeous aqua from Sherwin Williams.  Now time for the fun!!

I used my ScotchBlue Painter's Tape with Edge-Lock™ Paint LineProtector to tape off a square section on the top:

This area got painted white.  Once it was dry, I applied ScotchBlue Painter's Tape with Edge-Lock™ Paint Line Protector to the entire square surface.  I found a zebra pattern I liked online and sketched this pattern on the tape.

I drew slashes through the parts of the pattern that I wanted cut out.  I then used an exacto knife to cut these pieces out.  This is when I started to get excited!

I painted over these areas with a homemade mixture of gray, then pulled the tape off before the paint was dry.

There were two things that I really liked about this tape:

First, it is sticky, and sticks to the project instead of peeling off.  BUT it doesn't peel off your paint when you're done. Double points.

Second, the lines are crisp, for real! I didn't go over the tape with the base coat first and the only places where I had any bleed through is where I accidently lifted the tape when cutting it with the exacto knife.

So yeah, back to peeling off the tape....

!VIOLA! Zebra! Look at those crisp zebra stripes!!

I love how the hardware pops off the aqua!

I painted the inside of the drawers to match the rest of the end table.  This is the first time I've painted the inside of a drawer, and I LOVE it!!

Here is a close-up of the pattern:

She makes me smile!! So exotic and pretty!
